My name is Barrie Fletcher; I am currently a student at Anderson College and proud to represent my school in The Paralegal TownHall. I have always had a passion for the law, but my path to the legal field has been anything but traditional. After becoming a parent at a young age, my focus shifted to building a stable career and supporting my family. I spent many years in food service and retail management, eventually working my way up to District Manager, where I oversaw merchandising, hiring, operations, and training across seven stores.
In recent years, I decided to take the leap and pursue a career that has always been close to my heart. Returning to school and entering the paralegal program has allowed me to reconnect with my passion for law and advocacy. My journey has been one of personal growth. Later in life, I embraced my identity as a gay man, an experience that has shaped my perspective and strengthened my commitment to fairness and inclusion. I am incredibly proud of my daughter who continues to amaze me every day, and I value the close relationship I share with my parents. Over the past few years, I have been living with them as we support one another through health challenges and continue to enjoy being a close-knit family along with our dog Jennie, who keeps life lively and fun.
